MOONLIT CRIES

Lego sets I can’t afford, part 2

Alright, I still have a bunch of tabs open from last time I went exploring the lego website, so let’s make another post and clear those out. This post is now presented in delicious Linux Mint Forums green!

The Fauna Collection – Macaw Parrots ($59.99)

You don’t get just one colorful parrot– You get two. I had the pleasure of seeing this in person at a lego store, and was taken by how they looked in person. These are meant to be display pieces that you could even mount on the wall directly. These I do intend to own one day, but I have to be frugal right now.

Nightmare Shark Ship ($139.99)

Another banger of a design with a ghastly shark with a boat built atop it. I’m a fan of this shark design, and would love one that were more affordable. Alas, that is why I content myself by making appreciation posts like these.

The Never Witch’s Nightmare Creatures ($44.99)

Do you like corvids? Hell yeah, let’s have a corvid!

The Never Witch’s Midnight Raven ($99.99)

CORVIDS! Another one that I had the pleasure of witnessing in person. It certainly makes its high-ticket price felt with its luxury. This is a very sumptuous design, and is very cool.

Also has an alternate mode where you could choose to build a house on legs, and a spider instead of a raven if you desire.

I’ve seen many a Baba Yaga’s hut reference, but this one is perhaps the gnarliest with the raven legs. Lovely.

Viking Ship and the Midgard Serpent (retired)

No way in hell am I going to bother with the *expensive* second-hand lego aftermarket, but I can appreciate the design of the boat, serpent, and adorable small cow here.

I admit that I’m a sucker for eastern mythology, so as soon as I recognized that this is the dragon king’s underwater palace, I geeked out. Not sure about that tower element. It seems like Wukong’s staff. I’m also not sure if the dragon in the back is also an architectural element, or if it’s supposed to be the dragon king themselves in an alternate form.

This entry’s mostly here because I’m a mythology nerd.

Zane’s Ice Dragon Creature ($99.99)

A six-legged, four-winged dragon is quite the rare look as is. But there is an additional feature.

It can stand up, and reveal what is the first time I have seen six-pack abs recreated in lego form. Magnificient.

Mighty Dinosaurs ($14.99)

Let us turn our attention away from draconic six-packs, and focus instead on our next entry: Mighty dinosaurs! First up on the docket is the Tyrannosaurus rex! A classic and a good one. Love the tiny, and scientifically accurate non-pronated hands.

But wait! You get to build two other dinors as well! Nice.

This may come as a surprise with how much I enjoy dragons, but I’m not actually a fan of high fantasy settings. This D&D set is quite scenic, however, and I will admit that the dragon is lovely.

And that’s all the lego tabs I had open on my browser. Phew! Thank you for reading, and hopefully you enjoyed looking at some legos too. See ya next time!
